Blue light oxidizes skin cells ??
Well here’s another study showing the damaging affects of blue light. Outdoors, in our natural state ( the shaded sun) we get orders of magnitude more light ( photons) from the sun than we can ever practically reproduce indoors, and orders of magnitude more blue light than we can re-create indoors.
So what gives ? If blue light in the shaded sun is our natural state, why isn’t it damaging ? The answer is due to SPECTRAL BALANCE.

The Sun’s spectrum is balanced. In sunlight, blue is balanced by red, UV is balanced by Infrared. While blue light on its own may be damaging, in shaded sunlight, the damage of the blue light is offset by repair and rejuvenative properties of red light.
The Sun's spectrum at noon (5600K)
While UV causes certain damage it also serves enormous benefits, like 300nm UVB synthesizing Vitamin D in our skin. So what protects us from the damage in our natural state ? The damage from UV, is repaired by the Infrared energy of the Sun; again, red part of the spectrum balancing the blue.
Pretty fascinating stuff eh ?
